Manny Pacquiao comes into his third meeting with Tim Bradley on the back of a loss to Floyd Mayweather that will have hurt him both mentally and physically.

He was nursing a shoulder problem during the fight and is back on Saturday night on the back of successful surgery on the shoulder. In their two meetings to date, Manny Pacquiao has been the better man overall. This could well be his last ever fight, but everyone knows that deep down he wants to tempt Floyd Mayweather out of retirement and score a big-money re-match before he finally hangs up his gloves. One way to get Mayweather’s attention would be to get the KO victory over Bradley and call him out afterwards.

Pacquiao lost the first encounter with Bradley in such a controversial fashion that investigations were launched and two of the judges don’t perform the duty anymore. He then went on to win in a relatively boring affair the next time out. Pacquiao , now 37 years old, has a legacy to fight for if not in the minds of boxing purists then in his mind as a true fighting man. He’s looking at this potentially being his last fight should he get elected in the Philippines, but the lure of a second Mayweather fight could send Pacquiao on a “nothing to lose” tactic against Bradley.

Pacquiao has responded to a loss well in the past, going on a three-fight streak after the knockout at the hands of Juan Manuel Marquez. This time he has even more to fight for, regardless of whether this is goodbye. Look for Pacquiao to go headhunting and score the knockout now that he’s healthy and motivated; both politically and mentally following a loss.

We know he’s capable of it. Most bookmakers are offering 4/1 about the KO/TKO win for Manny Pacquiao and while the decision win is a bit more likely, the Filipino would absolutely bring the house down and rock the boxing world if he could find a punch of old and get the job done inside the distance against such a well-respected and top class opponent. Wouldn’t it be something?
