Leeds v Aston Villa Past Meetings

This will be the 81st  meeting between these two sides, with Leeds shading the head-to-head record with 27 wins compared to Villa’s 26, with a further 27 drawn.

The Yorkshire side triumphed 2-0 in this encounter last season thanks to goals from Kemar Roofe and Chris Wood, in the first meeting between the sides in 12 years.

The return clash at Villa Park finished 1-1, with a late Jonathan Kodija penalty cancelling out Pontus Jannsen’s opener.

Villa have not recorded a win at Elland Road since December 2000.

Leeds v Aston Villa Stats

Leeds have collected fewer points at home (14) than they have on the road (15) and their home record is only the 12th strongest in the division.

Thomas Christiansen’s side have won two of their last three matches after losing seven of their previous eight matches prior to that.

Villa meanwhile are stronger at home than they are away, with 14 points from their nine matches away from Villa Park this campaign.

The Midlands club has lost just one of their last seven matches and two of their last 11.

Steve Bruce’s Villa have the joint-second best defensive record in the division (17 goals conceded) and the best outside of the automatic promotion slots.

Leeds v Aston Villa Team News

Stuart Dallas is expected to be available for Leeds having missed the recent 2-0 win at Barnsley, but the hosts have no fresh injury or suspension worries.

Mile Jedinak (shoulder) is thought to be unavailable for the visitors, with Chris Samba likely to replace him in the starting line-up. Key duo John Terry and Jonathan Kodjia also are injury doubts while Andre Green, Rushian Hepburn-Murphy and Scott Hogan are also unavailable.

Reason for Leeds v Aston Villa Bets

This is a contest between two in-form teams who both share aspirations of reaching the top flight next season, and they are difficult to separate.

Both recorded 2-0 victories on Saturday and both will be hopeful of another victory on Friday night, although neither will be overly disheartened with a point.

Villa are five points adrift of the automatic promotion spots with Leeds three points from a playoff place but coming into a steady stream of fixtures, a point in this clash would be seen as one gained rather than two lost.

Villa’s Ghanaian attacker Albert Adomah netted both goals against Ipswich on Saturday and now has found the back of the net five times in the past three matches.

He has already bagged ten league goals this season – two shy of his personal best league tally – while Leeds (24) have conceded more than all seven sides above them.
