Norwich City v Sheffield Wednesday Past Meetings

This will be the 37th meeting between these two sides, with Wednesday shading the head-to-head record with 14 wins compared to Norwich’s 11.

The last time the two sides met saw the Yorkshire side triumph 5-1 at Hillsborough in a thumping victory which included a double from Jordan Rhodes.

The meeting between the two at Carrow Road last season ended in a scoreless draw.

The Canaries have won only one of their past 13 meetings against the Sheffield side, losing nine of those fixtures.

Norwich City v Sheffield Wednesday Stats

Norwich are without a win in their last eight matches in all competitions in a poor run of form which has included six defeats.

Before that, the Canaries had gone on a nine-game unbeaten run and they have subsequently slipped from the playoff zone down into 16th.

By contrast, Carlos Carvahal’s Sheffield Wednesday are unbeaten in their last seven outings but have drawn each of their last four matches.

Daniel Farke’s Norwich have collected only 11 points from their 10 home matches this season – the fourth worst home record in the division.

Wednesday’s away form is similar, having won just two of their ten matches on the road, collecting only 10 points.

The Yorkshire side have the fourth strongest defence outside of the top six while Norwich’s 18 goals is the third worst offensive record in the Championship – behind only Birmingham, in 22nd, and bottom-of-the-table Burton Albion.

Norwich City v Sheffield Wednesday Team News

Neither side has any fresh injury or suspension worries.

The hosts are likely to continue to deploy their 4-2-3-1 formation with Nelson Oliveira leading the line but Alex Pritchard and Cameron Jerome will both be pushing for starts in a side struggling for goals.

Wednesday will stick with their 4-4-2 formation, with Jordan Rhodes – who came on at the break against Hull City – likely to partner the in-form Gary Hooper – coming up against his former club – in attack, with Steven Fletcher expected to make way.

Norwich City v Sheffield Wednesday Reason for bets

Norwich are without a win in their last eight matches but have drawn each of their past two home games, while Wednesday have won only one of their last eight games on the road.

It’s very hard to look beyond the draw in this game, especially as the Owls have drawn each of their past four matches.

Both sides are drifting towards mid-table obscurity due to their lack of wins and another stalemate is likely at Carrow Road.

All eyes will be on Wednesday striker Hooper returning to face the side for whom he netted 20 goals in 70 appearances.

The former Glasgow Celtic striker netted both of the Sheffield side’s goals in the recent draw with Hull and he now has three goals in his past three games.
