The last time these teams met was in the 2014/15 season in League One. In the most recent encounter at Ashton Gate, the Robins went one goal up in the first half only to collapse and concede three after the break, losing 1-3.

In the previous match at Bramall Lane that season, the sides went into the break at 1-1, but Wade Elliott struck a second-half winner for City.

There’s been just one draw in the last 20 meetings between the sides.

In 15 of the last 20 head-to-heads, the home side has won.

Sheffield United v Bristol City Team News

City winger Callum O’Dowda has been ruled out for up to 10 weeks after having on operation on his ankle. The 22-year-old was injured during the Robins’ 3-2 victory over Hull.

For United, Shaun Williams is back in training after a knee injury and could make a return. Byron Webster remains out.

Reason for Sheffield United v Bristol City Bets

It’s fourth versus third in the Championship as Sheffield United take on Bristol City at Bramall Lane. Neither of these sides was expected to be fighting for a play-off spot this season, let alone be the outsiders for automatic promotion. The Blades are having quite an impact in their first season back in England’s second tier after last season’s promotion, whilst the Robins finished last campaign in 17th place in the Championship and just three points above the relegation zone.

There are signs that the home side’s purple patch is starting to wear off however. After an impressive start to the new season, they’ve now won just two of their last six games. They’re on a three-game winless run, losing 1-3 last time out to Millwall. Nevertheless, their record at home is still impressive; they’ve won seven and lost just two of 10 matches there all season.

City meanwhile are on a three-game unbeaten run, winning their last two matches against Middlesbrough and Hull City. Their away form is equally as impressive as United’s is at the Lane; the joint best in the league. They’ve lost one away match all season, less than any other club.

If the stats are anything to go by, then a draw seems an unlikely result given it’s rarity in this fixture. Nevertheless, considering both side’s respective form at home and away, their ability not to lose, and some decent odds, it becomes a more attractive proposition. Back it to happen at 23/10 with Betfred.

Both teams are also fairly high scorers and conceeders, so backing a draw and both teams to score seems a good option at 16/5 with Paddy Power.
