Spanish Grand Prix Betting Preview

We are four races in to the 2017 season and so far we have had three different race winners.  Furthermore there have been three different pole-setters albeit only once has a pole-setter won a race.

The dominant car/driver combinations are the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas and the Ferrari driven by Sebastian Vettel.

His team-mate, Kimi Raikonnen, is becoming increasingly disappointing having failed to earn a pole position since 2008 and his win-less streak stretches back to the opening race of the 2013 season.

We are therefore recommending a ‘lay’ of him in bet365’s ‘to make the podium’ market.  They are offering 5/6 about him missing a trip to the steps for a fourth time this year.

Nevertheless the Finn has claimed two ‘fastest laps’ this season and he looks over-priced at 11/2 to add to that on Sunday afternoon when the race action comes from Barcelona.

Sebastien Vettel is the ‘Practice King’

Beforehand, on Friday to be precise, there are two Practice sessions and the first of those can go to Sebastian Vettel.

The German has topped the time sheets in six of the ten practice sessions staged this season and that alone makes him a great proposition at Stan James 13/8 to add to that tally on Friday morning.

Safety Despite Numbers

Traditionally there tends to be a large number of non-finishers here in Spain but that does not mean crashes are expected.

Indeed there has only been one Safety Car inducing incident in the past seven years and it is 4-from-13 in recent times.

Once again the stats dictate a bet and that bet is on the ‘NO Safety Car’ scenario at bet365’s 11/10.
