Reasons for Bury v Swindon betting tips

Incredibly, the last time these clubs met Bury were sitting third in the league after four consecutive wins. Much has changed since then for the Shakers, not least a new gaffer. They currently sit in the relegation zone, just two points below Saturday’s opponents.

After ending an atrocious 12-game losing streak, they’ve slightly improved in form. They’ve gained four points from their last two home games, including a 5-1 hammering of Peterborough.

Swindon, meanwhile, have been consistently inconsistent throughout the season. They recently won away against promotion hopefuls Bolton, but have since lost their last three league games.

The absence of first-choice keeper Lawrence Vigoroux is certainly untimely, after his sending off last week. It’s going to be a big day for 18-year-old Will Henry, who’ll likely make his second league appearance in what is a vital fixture at the foot of the table.

A draw doesn’t help either side, and both will consider the fixture a must-win. It’s not easy to pick a winner, but with Swindon’s poor away form and Bury’s recent revival, backing the home side seems the most sensible. William Hill are offering the best odds at 5/4 for a Bury win.

Both sides have managed just one clean sheet in their last 10 fixtures, with neither particularly strong at the back. They’ll both be gunning for a win, so over 2.5 goals seems likely. More specifically though, a correct score of 2-1 is tempting, with Bet365 offering it at 8/1. Back James Vaughan as an anytime scorer – the striker has been prolific this season.
