Millwall v Scunthorpe Past Meetings

The Iron undoubtedly have the upper hand in this head-to-head fixture, winning eight of the twelve competitive games the two have played, including the 3-0 reverse game earlier this campaign and a 2-0 triumph in London last season.

Paddy Madden netted a brace in that fixture earlier in the season alongside a strike from Hakeem Adelakun.

Indeed, Scunny’s record at the New Den is remarkably strong – they’ve won five of the six clashes there between the two sides.

Millwall v Scunthorpe Stats

Going into their FA Cup quarter final at Tottenham, Millwall had remarkably conceded only two goals in their previous 13 fixtures – a run which has included the scalps of top-flight opposition Bournemouth, Watford and Leicester City. Since that 6-0 loss, they’ve picked up only 2 points and 1 clean sheet in 3 league outings.

Despite sitting fourth in the table, Scunny have only the eighth best away record in the division and have picked up only 5 points from their last 11 away fixtures, including losing each of their last three.

Millwall v Scunthorpe Team News

Neither side has any fresh injuries or suspensions going into the match.

Reason for Millwall v Scunthorpe bets

Millwall have conceded only five goals in their previous 14 league games in a run which has included eleven clean sheets, while in the FA Cup their defence produced three shut outs from four against Premier League opposition.

Since the turn of the year the Lions have the strongest defensive record of any professional side in England, while the Iron have had a terrible recent record away from home with only one win in eleven outings.

Millwall’s last three games do provide some cause for concern – a six-goal thumping by Spurs may have been disappointing considering their strong league form but a 3-3 draw at Rochdale and 1-0 defeat at struggling Swindon, but this is probably little more than a small blip, while Scunny’s away form has been more prolonged and more damaging.

Neil Harris’s side have their sights set on a playoff spot despite an inconsistent opening few months of the season, while the Iron have fallen from an automatic promotion slot and have little momentum at present.
