Reason for Blackpool v Hartlepool Bets

Blackpool desperately struggled for wins at the start of 2017. They went on a seven-game winless run at Bloomfield Park, but have finally turned things round and are starting to pick up some valuable points. They’re on an eight-game unbeaten stretch in the league and have won four of their last five matches – including their last two homes games.

Their recent revival has greatly improved their chances of nicking a play-off spot. They currently sit in eighth place, a mere point off Exeter in seventh and two points off Carlisle in sixth. They’ve also taken points off the teams above them in recent weeks, stealing a 1-0 win over the previously unbeaten Stevenage and thrashing Plymouth at their own ground.

Saturday’s opponents, Hartlepool, are in their own battle at the other end of the table. The Monkey Hangers are two places above the relegation zone, although recent form has seen them forge a nine-point gap over Newport – albeit they’ve played an extra game than their relegation rivals.

Two weeks ago, they got their first away win in the league since October, dispatching 10-man Cambridge 1-0. Needless to say, their away form has been atrocious this year. They’ve lost six of their last seven games on the road.

Taking everything into account, a resurgent Blackpool side – with the play-offs in their sights – should ease to a home win against a side who struggle on their travels. Back it at 7/10 with William Hill.

Blackpool are one of just three teams to let in less than 40 goals in League Two so far this season, and they’ve conceded just one in their last four matches. Back the home side to win to nil at 17/10 with William Hill.
