Week 2 of the Betway Premier League Darts comes from Nottingham on Thursday – as usual the action will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Dual World Champion Gary Anderson took Michael van Gerwen to a 6-6 draw in last week’s Premier League curtain raiser and everything considered he should readily dispatch Jelle Klaasen comprehensively on this weeks card.

Chisnall to Win on Points but Lose Again?

Meanwhile Dave Chisnall continues to be deadly at delivering 180s – posting a best of the night five of them last week – and he’s not too shabby at checking out either.  His 160 check-out was the best of the night last week too. But the popular player simply cannot deliver the goods and Phil Taylor with lower averages in every department still crushed him 7-3 last time.

Given what must be becoming a total lack of confidence, Adrian Lewis is fancied to incur another defeat on Chizzy.  He should surely not be odds-against, but he is with 6/5 available at Betfair.

Peter has the Wright stuff

But our bet of the night is an unlikely one, Peter Wright given a 1.5 start on the handicap, to beat Michael van Gerwen.  Wright is in sparkling form, he trounced Jelle Klaasen last week and he showed some devistatng form during the weekend.

In fact he won a UK Open qualifying event on Sunday accounting for Stephen Bunting (6-1 in the fifth round) a certain Michael van Gerwen (6-4) in the quarter-finals and Michael Smith in the final.

This of course is a different stage but confidence is king and it’s foolish to expect a major turn-around in form in just a few days. The +1.5 handicap means a drawn match would be good enough to collect and 9/4 looks massive value.

Go Low on Total 180’s

Given last week’s action consisted of a relatively high 57 legs and there were 29 180’s scored, it’s easy to jump on BetVictor’s ‘Under 32.5’ in the Total 180’s betting market this week.

There were just 25 180’s scored at the corresponding night/venue last year and 8 of 13 nights featuring five games during 2016 featured less than 32.5 180’s.
