The 180’s Line is High in the Premier League Darts night in Leeds

The Betway Premier League Darts rocks up in Leeds this week.  This venue was the curtain raiser of the 2016 season when there were some real hammerings, particularly a rare 7-0 victory for Dave Chisnall over Robert Thornton and an additional three 7-1 and 7-2 score-lines.

In total there were just 24 180’s posted that night with Peter Wright and James Wade responsible for five apiece.  In the two weeks of the ongoing 2017 league there have been a grand total of 29 180’s posted on both nights.

So, suffice to say, our headline bet this week is the 9/10 Betvictor are offering about there being less than 32.5 180’s in Leeds on Thursday.  Other firms have set their line at 31.5 or, like Bet365, go a much shorter 8/11 about there being 32 or less 180’s this week.

Wright’s low scoring could be costly

Meanwhile, in an all-Scottish affair Gary Anderson faces Peter Wright.  Wright was thumped by Michael van Gerwen last week and, while he won his week one match against Jelle Klaasen, his 3-dart average was the lowest of the night.  It is a distinction he also claimed last week.

Given Anderson is ‘in form’ and has surpassed a 100 3-dart average in both his 2017 Premier League games, the smart play looks to be backing him on the handicap where he forfeits a -2.5 leg start.

MVG’s sparking form

Michael van Gerwen posted an amazing two 9-dart finishes in the same game in a UK Open qualifier during the week. Clearly his amazing form is not abating and while he could only muster a 6-6 draw against Gary Anderson in week 1, he is impossible to oppose against Jelle Klaasen this week.

Its unimaginative but the 4/7 (Bet365) about him winning on the handicap with a -3.5 leg deficit looks like banker material and something which can be doubled-up into all bets on the night.
