  • Adrian Lewis to beat Kim Huybrechts at 5/6 with Coral

  • Gary Anderson to beat Van Barneveld -2.5 (handicap) at 11/8 with Paddy Power

  • Highest Check-Out 151.5+ at 5/6 with Betfred

How well is Michael van Gerwen going to perform before his home crowd in Rotterdam on Thursday evening?

This will be only the second time the Premier League has rolled into Holland, at the corresponding night in 2016 the reigning World Champion beat Phil Taylor 7-5.

MVG’s record in the 2017 league is now three wins and two draws from five games but how lucky was he to scrape a victory last week?  Kim Huybrechts missed no less than four darts to secure at least a 6-6 draw let us not forget.

The Dutch player jumps on mistakes like that and he also holds sway over Taylor in recent times.  Everything considered a narrow margin win against his old rival looks on the cards tonight and a repeat of last year’s score-line very plausible.

Draw too short, Lewis too big

On that theme the firms seem to be on to Kim Huybrechts inability to cross the line in front – if he were a racehorse they would have applied the cheek-pieces by now and Timeform would have given him a double squiggle – they go a remarkably short 7/2 about him drawing with Adrian Lewis tonight.  Therein, at 5/6, Lewis looks a value price for the win.

Anderson’s Barnsley form

There was a Player’s Championship event in Barnsley during the week.  A number of Premier League Darts players took part with van Gerwen and Huybrechts faring best – both were eliminated at the semi-final stages.

But Gary Anderson arguably performed best overcoming better rivals – such as Mensur Suljovic, Kyle Anderson – and Raymond van Barneveld worst, losing in the early stages to Darren Johnson.

It’s unimaginative but Anderson, who already has this game won on Premier League Darts stats to-date, is a confident win selection.

As that’s no value, why not speculate on the handicap where 11/8 is available about the Scotsman minus 2.5 legs.

Buy the check-outs at Betfred

MVG posted a 164 check-out in Amsterdam last year and there have been no end of high check-outs in the competition this year:

Two 170’s (weeks 2 & 4), a 160 in week 1 and a 154 last week.  The line has been set at 151.5 by Betfred this week and there’s plenty of reason to think you should ‘go higher’ at odds of 5/6.
