Arsenal v Liverpool Past Meetings

This will be the 190th competitive fixture between the two clubs, with Liverpool edging the head-to-head victories with 70 wins to Arsenal’s 68.

Arsene Wenger’s side suffered an early season humiliation at Anfield with a heavy 4-0 loss in an abject display.

In his head-to-head record against Jurgen Klopp, Wenger’s Arsenal have conceded 14 goals in four outings – three or more in each match.

However, Liverpool have only won one of their last six trips to the Emirates with three defeats in that spell.

Arsenal v Liverpool Stats

Only the clubs from Manchester have scored more league goals than Liverpool (38) this season while Arsenal are the joint-fifth highest scorers in the division.

However, Liverpool have conceded more goals (17) on the road than any other side in the top half while Arsenal have won 13 of their last 14 home league games.

The Gunners have only lost one more league game this calendar year than Everton, who currently sit 9th  in the table.

Only Manchester City have lost fewer league games than Liverpool (2) this season but Jurgen Klopp’s side have drawn more times than any other club in the league.

Arsenal v Liverpool Team News

Long-term absentee Santi Cazorla (plantaris) is joined on the sidelines for Arsenal by Aaron Ramsay (hamstring) but Shkodran Mustafi is expected to be fit.

Liverpool will be without Alberto Moreno (ankle), Joel Matip (muscle), Nathaniel Clyne (back), Adam Bogdan (ACL) and Marko Grukjic (fractured finger) while there’s a massive doubt over Daniel Sturridge (hamstring).

Reason for Arsenal v Liverpool Bets

Arsenal are without a win in their last five games with Liverpool but go into this match with an extremely strong home record.

With only two defeats this season, Klopp’s side have shown they are extremely tough to beat and are able to offer games in which they show greater defensive discipline in relation to their attacking threat.

Whilst the Gunners results and performances have been predictable this season – very strong at home, underwhelming away – Liverpool offer less certainty.

A string of recent big wins had been interrupted with potentially damaging home draws with Everton and West Brom, but Arsenal are one of only two top half sides they have defeated this season.

However, Klopp’s strong record over Wenger – who’s attacking style could once again be exploited – means that home advantage is ruled out and a draw is the safest outcome for betting.

Six of the last seven clashes between the clubs and all of the last four have produced four goals or more, and lots of goals looks to be a strong bet for Friday’s clash.
