Manchester United v Everton Past Meetings

These two sides have met 176 times competitively in their history, with Manchester United winning on 79 occasions (44.9%), Everton 54 (30.7%) with 43 draws (24.4%).

Both clashes between the sides last season ended in 1-1 draws, while Everton are without a victory in four meetings.

The Toffees have only won one of their last 25 visits to Old Trafford – a 1-0 victory in December 2013, when David Moyes managed the Red Devils.

Everton have only scored more than once on two occasions in the last 12 games the clubs have met.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored both of United’s goals in these fixtures last season, but is ruled out with injury this time around.

Manchester United v Everton Stats

Manchester United (12) have scored more league goals than any other top flight side so far this season, while only Bournemouth and Crystal Palace have scored fewer than Everton (2).

The Merseyside’s club goal difference (-4) is the worst of any side outside of the current bottom three while United (+10) have the best in the division.

Each of the last three meetings between the two have seen goals go in during the 89th minute or later – two of which were penalties.

Manchester United are unbeaten at Old Trafford in their last 33 games across all competitions.

Everton are without a win in ten Premier League away matches and have won only twice on the road in their last 19 travels – the equivalent of a full season.

Manchester United v Everton Team News

United continue to be without both Marcos Rojo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic (ACL knee injuries) while Paul Pogba is also unavailable (hamstring) after sustaining an injury against Basel on Tuesday, while Luke Shaw is still on his way back to fitness.

Ronald Koeman’s side have four long-term injury absentees: Ross Barkley is out until November with a hamstring injury, Seamus Coleman’s broken leg rules him out while Ramiro Funes Mori and Yannick Bolasie (knee) are both out until the New Year. James McCarthy (knee) is a doubt.

Reason for Manchester United v Everton Bets

Jose Mourinho’s side are the early form team in England and should be able to continue their strong start to the season at home to an out-of-sorts Everton side.

Despite their tough start to the campaign – trips to Man City and Chelsea, hosting Spurs – concerns are already showing with the Toffees: they lack pace throughout the side, particularly in attack and look ponderous.

Saturday’s defeat at the hands of Tottenham exposed Koeman’s side’s shortcomings and displayed why they are still short of the league’s top six.

A Thursday night trip to Italy is less than ideal too and could likely mean Everton like freshness and sharpness in this fixture.

Anthony Martial netted the winner the last time United beat Everton in both the league and FA Cup, and has already found the net twice this season – odds of 7/4 for him to continue this form are hard to resist.
