Under 2.5 Goals 7/4 – Black Type

Tottenham v Arsenal Past Meetings

This will be the 169th competitive fixture between the two clubs, with the Gunners ahead on the head-to-head record with 67 wins compared to Tottenham’s 52.

However, there has been little to separate the two in the fixture’s recent history, with three draws and two 2-0 wins across the last five meetings.

The fixture earlier this season at the Emirates Stadium finished 2-0 to Arsenal – Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez were the scorers.

Spurs won this fixture 2-0 last April at White Hart Lane thanks to goals from Dele Alli and Harry Kane.

Tottenham v Arsenal Stats

Spurs sit fifth in the standings but have the division’s fourth best home record, with eights wins and just one defeat from their 13 outings at Wembley in the league.

By contrast, Arsenal have only the league’s ninth best away record – with six defeats and just 13 points from 13 matches on the road.

Tottenham are unbeaten in their last 12 outings in all competitions and have won 10 of their last 15 matches – but just two of their last five.

Arsenal have none of their last five away games in all competition, losing three, and have just one win from their last eight games away from home.

Both recorded morale boosting results at the weekend, with Arsenal beating Everton 5-1 and Spurs securing a late 2-2 draw at Liverpool.

Tottenham v Arsenal Team News

Spurs have a fully-fit squad with no injuries or suspensions. Lucas Moura may be included in the squad for the first time.

Petr Cech (calf), Danny Welbeck (muscular) and Nacho Monreal (illness) are all doubts for the Gunners, while long-term absentee Santi Cazorla is also unavailable. New signings Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are both likely to start.

Reason for Tottenham v Arsenal Bets

This game is too tight to call – both sides could legitimately claim they are favourites, more so the home side, but a draw is the most probable outcome.

Three of the last five meetings between the two have ended in stalemate while the matches are generally well-contested, with little between the sides.

Arsenal go into the game with more of a ‘feel-good’ factor following a heavy win over Everton and the arrival of two new star forwards.

Spurs are also in form, protecting a long unbeaten run, and have made Wembley into a fortress – unbeaten in their last 12 home league games.

However, this game is likely to be close again and low-scoring again – fixtures of years gone by between these two have often seen plenty of goals, but not while Mauricio Pochettino has been Spurs boss.

Only once in the past 12 meetings has four goals gone in, while the ‘under 2.5 goals’ bet would have won in eight of the last 11 clashes.
