Watford v Arsenal Past Meetings

Arsenal have won all four meetings between the two at Vicarage Road in the Premier League era – the Hornets have not won a home match in this fixture since 1987.

However, Watford have triumphed in each of their past two visits to North London to play the Gunners including January’s 2-1 victory.

Last season’s match at Vicarage Road finished in a 3-1 victory for Arsene Wenger’s side.

Marco Silva’s Hull City lost 2-0 at Arsenal last season but he defeated them with Olympiakos 3-2 in the Champions League two seasons ago.

There has never been a scoreless draw between these two teams.

Watford v Arsenal Stats

Only West Ham (13) and Crystal Palace (17) have conceded more league goals than Watford (12) this season.

The Hornets are yet to win a home game so far this campaign, holding Liverpool and Brighton to draws while losing 6-0 to Manchester City.

Silva’s side are only one point behind the Gunners in the table.

Arsenal are yet to win an away match this season – drawing at Chelsea and losing their trips to Stoke City and Liverpool.

Watford v Arsenal Team News

The hosts will be without Nathaniel Chalobah, Isaac Success, Craig Cathcart, Tommie Hoban (all knee) and Younes Kaboul (hamstring), although Sebastian Prodl (hamstring) should be fit.

Arsenal are missing Shkodran Mustafi (thigh) and long-term absentee Santi Cazorla (plantaris) but Laurent Koscielny (Achilles) and Calum Chambers (hip) are expected to be passed fit.

Reason for Watford v Arsenal Bets

Despite Arsenal’s dominance of fixtures at this ground in recent seasons, Marco Silva possesses an excellent home record across several clubs over recent seasons and his side will be hoping of taking at least a point.

Whilst his side are without a home win in three, the performance and draw against Liverpool was hard-won and they met Manchester City in top form.

Arsenal have once again be fragile on the road this season and have yet to score so much as one goal away from the Emirates in the league.

Watford have already secured impressive wins over Bournemouth, Southampton and Swansea this season with only one defeated in seven – a run that could well continue.

Alex Iwobi is in fine form – he netted in Arsenal’s last match, at home to Brighton, while scoring the decisive goal to guarantee Nigeria’s passage to next year’s World Cup.

Furthermore, he has scored in two of the last three matches these sides have met and could well capitalise on a Watford defence who have already conceded 12 league goals this season.
