Eurovision 2019 Betting Odds: Sweden and Azerbaijan the latest countries for money in Eurovision

Eurovision 2019 betting odds

Our main Eurovision 2019 betting page is here

SWEDEN have been the big market mover in the Eurovision 2019 betting odds market. They are now just 9/2 on the Betfair betting exchange and considerably shorter with some online bookmakers. However, there is an ‘arb’ (the ability to back and lay a selection giving you the ability to make money regardless of the result) as BetVictor are holding out at 5/1 about the six time winners.

Remarkably, unlike defending champions Israel, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK, Sweden are not fast-tracked to the final and they will have to qualify for the final night on Thursday in the second Eurovision 2019 semi-finals.

Their act, a former track and field athlete called John Lundvik, will perform eighth of the 18 acts. Available at 9/1 just a week ago, Sweden still only demand 5% of the vote in the Eurovisionworld.com poll and therefore they appear to be way too short in the Eurovision 2019 betting odds.

Price Shifts – Eurovision 2019 Betting Odds Update

The weight of money for Sweden has seen long standing favourites, the Netherlands, drift out from 7/4 to 9/4 at Unibet.  That’s really interesting as Unibet has a big footprint within that country. Other notable market movers include Russia who are out to 9/1 (Unibet) from 11/2, and Italy are now 14’s (bet365*) from 9/1.

Beyond the big Eurovision 2019 betting odds move for Sweden, Azerbaijan are the other big betting story. Available at 50/1 just six days ago, William Hill are now just 6/1 about the 2011 winners who have reached the finals in ten of the eleven years they have taken part in this competition. They have also finished in the top-10 six times and so Betway’s 11/1 may not last much longer.

Azerbaijan have a plot draw, the pimp seat, in the second semi-final performing 18 of 18. They are 7/1 to win this with Paddy Power which looks a great value each-way Eurovision 2019 bet but do check each-way terms carefully as Paddy Power terms are positions 1-2 and 1/3rd the odds while Ladbrokes, who go 6/1, are offering positions 1-2-3 but 1/5th the odds.
