Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe 2020 Betting Preview
The Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is Europe’s richest Flat race and one of the most highly anticipated contests in the worldwide racing calendar. Below we offer you our runners guide along with some outsider Arc de Triomphe 2020 betting tips we fancy as each way plays.
The 2020 event is going to have a very different feel about it due to the Covid-19 restrictions; however this should not detract from the overall quality of the field this year.

Here is our Arc de Triomphe 2020 runners guide…
Persian King – 22/1 William Hill
The Andre Fabre-trained colt makes a belated step up to a mile and a half for the Arc. Persian King’s dam’s side gives punters grounds for optimism and of course Fabre’s Arc record cannot be ignored.
Royal Julius – 250/1 William Hill
Winner of the inaugural Bahrain International Trophy over 1m 2f but looks totally up against it in this company.
Way To Paris – 66/1 William Hill
Probably one of the liveliest outsiders now based on Sunday’s predicted going. The grey will be seen closing them down late.
Sovereign – 100/1 bet365*
The runaway Irish Derby winner has struggled to reach those heights again and will probably play a minor role here.
Stradivarius – 15/2 Betfair
Out-and-out stayer and will be in his element with the predicted conditions underfoot. It’s easy to see why he has attracted some Arc betting support.
Japan – 40/1 William Hill
Second-favourite at one stage for last year’s race and came home four lengths behind Waldgeist. He may well be on the premises again.
Sottsass – 12/1 bet365*
It would come as no surprise to see the Jean-Claude Rouget colt play another major role in the closing stages. He was third last year to Waldgeist.
Enable – 13/8 fav 888sport
Two-time Arc winner but she is facing by far her toughest task to date. You have to feel younger legs will beat her on the day.
Deidre – 66/1 SportNation
The Japanese star mare has had plenty of successes but at this level she has to be another “no” on the list.
Gold Trip – 50/1 Boylesports
Shaped quite well behind Mogul last time out and may prove to be one of the dark horses amongst the home runners.
Chachnak – 200/1 William Hill
Won the Prix du Prince d’Orange here but this is a whole new ball game altogether.
In Swoop – 14/1 bet365*
German Derby winner and another horse that will be suited by the going. Powered home in the Grand Prix de Paris and can be involved here.
Mogul – 20/1 William Hill
Won the Group 1 Grand Prix de Paris over course and distance earlier this month and has every chance of putting it up to his elders.
Raabihah – 16/1 SportNation
She may have suffered defeat in the Prix Vermeille last time but she is the type to bounce right back. Her track record is an impressive four wins from six starts.
Love – Was 11/4 bet365* (Withdrawn – NR)
Love has already won the 1000 Guineas and Oaks this season but her trainer Aidan O’Brien is worried that the rain soaked ground may scupper her chances of Arc glory.
Update – Sadly Love has been declared a non-runner for Sunday’s showpiece.
Serpentine – 16/1 William Hill
The shock Derby victor finished fourth behind Mogul in the Grand Prix de Paris over the Arc course and distance earlier this month and has to be given a live chance based on that.

Autumnal conditions look like playing a massive part in the outcome of the 2020 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, and in this most peculiar of seasons, it may prove prudent to side with a couple of outsiders and stray away from the obvious Arc de Triomphe 2020 betting tips this year.
