Leeds v Cardiff City Past Meetings
This will be the 30th competitive fixture between the two clubs, with Cardiff ahead on the head-to-head record with 16 wins compared to United’s 6.
The Bluebirds won the meeting between the sides earlier in the season 3-1 at the Cardiff City Stadium – Kenneth Zohore netted twice, while Junior Hoilett also found the net as Liam Cooper was sent-off for Leeds.
The Welsh side have won 12 of the last 17 meetings, losing just three times – although two of those Leeds wins came in Cardiff.
Leeds v Cardiff City Stats
Leeds have only the 12th strongest home record in the division, while Cardiff’s form on the road has been mixed – they sit 10th in terms of points won solely away from home.
The home side are without a win in six in all competitions, including an FA Cup exit to fourth tier Newport County and defeats to Birmingham, Ipswich and Millwall.
The Yorkshire side have failed to score in four of their last five league outings.
Cardiff are in similar form, losing four of their last six and winning just once – but have recovered a degree of form thanks to a 4-0 win over Sunderland and scoreless draw at Sheffield Wednesday.
The Bluebirds have a game in hand against relegation-threatened Bolton, which could take them back into the automatic promotion slots.
Leeds v Cardiff City Team News
Leeds are expected to continue to deploy their 4-4-2 formation with Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Kemar Roofe – who scored their goal in Cardiff, leading the line. Stuart Dallas is pushing for a start.
United will continue with their 3-4-2-1 line-up which is headed by Kenneth Zohore, supported by Junior Hoilett and Yannick Wildschut.
Reason for Leeds v Cardiff City Bets
This is a game between two sides who are in danger of losing their way this season, but the visitors are still firmly involved in the promotion race.
Both sides have endured poor form over the past month but Neil Warnock’s Cardiff appear to have turned a corner and put in an admirable FA Cup showing against Manchester City.
The best value in this game can be found in backing the Welsh side to win to nil against a Leeds side who have fired four blanks in their last five league outings.
Cardiff have back-to-back league clean sheets and appear to be well-placed to continue to maintain a playoff spot, at least, this season.
Leeds are out-of-form with the natives growing restless, it may prove a difficult game for their side to react.
