Norwich City v Brentford Team News
Defender Rico Henry is a long-term absentee with a knee injury for the Bees. Danish forward Lasse Vibe is fit again following his hamstring problem, whilst Alan Judge is still building up his fitness ahead of his long-awaited return.
Midfielder Alex Pritchard made a successful return last week from ankle surgery, completing 90 minutes against Leeds United. The ex-Spurs man scored a goal in lat season’s thrashing of the Bees. Alex Tettey could make his hotly anticipated return from a calf injury. The Norway international hasn’t featured since September 30, and was an unused substitute last weekend.
Reason for Norwich City v Brentford Bets
Norwich City’s early promotion hopes are rapidly disintegrating, as they lie in 16th place in the Championship. Friday night’s opponents Brentford sit in 13th, but are just one point ahead of the Canaries.
Norwich boss Daniel Farke has had a tough start to life in English football, his side winning just one of their last nine Championship matches, with the pressure piling on the German. They’re already 10 points off the playoff zone, and need a quick turnaround if they are to not get left behind. The visitors meanwhile, have based themselves on being a particularly difficult side to defeat; they’ve drawn 10 of their matches so far this season, losing just six times in the process.
There isn’t too much to separate these teams currently. The home unit have won just one of their last eight matches in front of their own fans, whilst the away side are the masters of a stalemate. A draw is on the cards at 5/2 with William Hill.
Farke’s side have scored just 21 goals this season and are seriously lacking a clinical touch; it was a lack of ruthlessness which saw them lose 1-0 to Leeds last time out, despite hitting the woodwork twice. Brentford meanwhile had 23 shots last weekend against Barnsley, but none of them went in. Under 2.5 goals has happened in just over half of their away matches this season, so backing under 2.5 goals is very tempting at 23/20 at MarathonBet.
