Epsom Derby 2020 Betting Preview
The Derby is the most valuable horse race in Britain and the most prestigious of the five Classics. Run over a distance of a mile and a half, the race is open to three-year-old colts and fillies with this year’s renewal going off at a more punter friendly time of 4.55pm, so as to avoid clashing with other mainstream sports.
Traditionally the Derby and the Oaks normally take place on the first Friday and Saturday of June, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic the Epsom meeting has been condensed into a single day and scheduled into a safer slot on the revised racing calendar.
Oaks Betting Tip 2020
The Aidan O’Brien-trained Love is already a Classic winner having landed the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket in the first week of June. She wasn’t however the most consistent of two-year-old’s and there will be just as many people wanting to lay her at 11/10 (2.10) as to back her.
A stronger 2020 Oaks betting tip however is the John Gosden-trained Frankly Darling (NAP) (2/1 bet365*) who will be ridden by the big race maestro himself, Frankie Dettori. She was an impressive winner of the Ribblesdale and Gosden/Dettori have won this race twice in the last three years.

Derby Betting Tip 2020
The Ed Walker-trained English King (NAP) (approx 5/2 on the Betfair Exchange) scored a resounding victory in the Listed Derby Trial at Lingfield Park on June 5th and is an understandable favourite. There are no stamina concerns about him and Frankie Dettori takes the ride on what could be another memorable weekend for the Italian.

Pyledriver was an impressive winner of the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot and has certainly earned his place in this race. He could be capable of achieving so much more and must enter into calculations.
Hampton Court Stakes winner Russian Emperor looks the best of the Aidan O’Brien crop in the 2020 Derby betting odds and it would come as no surprise if he gave O’Brien a record-breaking success.
Kameko landed the 2000 Guineas in a ding-dong finish but there are doubts as to whether his stamina will last out over this extra two furlongs.
