REASON FOR PETERBOROUGH UNITED VS NOTTS COUNTY BETTING TIPS
After a 2-2 draw at Meadow Lane back on 4th December, Peterborough United and Notts County meet again at the ABAX Stadium (a.k.a. London Road) for the right to travel to Premier League leaders Chelsea for a daunting, yet glamorous, 3rd round tie.
The original game looked to be going in favour of League One Posh, who were 2-0 up within 15 minutes, only for the Magpies to fight-back and eventually secure a second chance courtesy of a Louis Laing equalizing goal deep into stoppage-time.
The form book is very much in Peterborough’s favour, with Grant McCann’s team having won seven of their last nine games in all competitions. They are looking good in 6th spot in League One, so occupying the final play-off spot as things stand. The weekend saw them secure a 2-0 win away to Charlton Athletic.
By contrast, League Two County have won just two of their last 16 matches in all competitions. A 2-1 defeat at Colchester United on Saturday leaves John Sheridan’s men down in 20th in League Two, just a single point above the dreaded drop-zone.
It’s difficult to make a case for Notts County here based on the gulf in quality and form between the two teams. Peterborough are the 3rd highest scorers in League One this term, with 35 goals to their name, while County have conceded 36 league goals, which is only two better off than the worst defensive record in League Two
It all points to not only a Peterborough victory, but a fairly comprehensive one. The odds certainly favour Posh, but a best price of 8/13 for a home win with Betway is just about acceptable for betting purposes.
Even so, a better option might be to look at the Asian Handicap market, where you can get even money on Peterborough -1 with bet365. That equates to your money back should McCann’s team win by any one-goal margin, but a full winning bet by anything above that.
Another bet worth contemplating is the Match Result & Total Goals Over /Under, with Peterborough looking good for a win with a few goals in the game. The Half-time/Full-time double result of Peterborough/Peterborough at 6/4 with Coral also looks a distinct possibility.
In terms of a Peterborough v Notts County correct score tip, this game looks likely to have a few goals, so a speculative punt on a 4-1 Posh victory at 21/1 with BetVictor might be worth a small interest.
