Reasons for Sutton United v Leeds United betting tips
National League side Sutton United will hope to keep their giant-killer tag when they face Championship side Leeds United. The London-based minnows have already dumped out League 2 side Cheltenham and League 1 side AFC Wimbledon to progress to the fourth round.
Much has been said of their artificial, 3-G pitch, but their dramatic second-leg victory over Wimbledon in the last round was actually away from home – albeit against 10-men for three quarters of the match.
Leeds were almost given a scare of their own in the last round, having to come from behind to defeat League 2 outfit Cambridge. Nevertheless, the Yorkshire side are flying at the moment in the league and are well in the race for a playoff spot.
For that reason, they’re odds on favourites with all the bookies, and probably for good reason. They can be backed at 3/5 with bet365.
Interestingly though, Leeds have managed to keep just one clean sheet in their last 14 FA Cup matches, so there’s a very real possibility of the home side grabbing a goal. Backing Leeds to win but both teams to score looks a decent bet therefore, with Paddy Power offering the best odds at 11/5.
If you’re looking for a home player to back to get the goal, look no further than Roarie Deacon. The ex-Arsenal youth player has already bagged four goals this FA Cup campaign, averaging 90 minutes per goal. For first goalscorer though, a good shout would be on prolific Leeds striker Chris Woods.
