1.45pm Goodwood – Blue Laureate (each way) at 16/1 William Hill (5 places)
The Ian Williams-trained Blue Laureate was last seen 10 days ago finishing fourth in the Marsh Cup at Newbury and is clearly in good heart.
The Williams stable is very much in-form at present and this five-year-old is a real thorough stayer and should relish a race of this nature.
He’s competitively priced at around 16/1 and can give you a good each-way run for your money.
Coeur De Lion landed the Ascot Stakes at the Royal Ascot meeting and should be competitive once again, while Rochester House looks like a horse on the verge of another win and hails from a stable that sends out Goodwood winners galore.
3.15pm Goodwood – Mohaather (win) at 11/4 with Betfair
Marcus Tregonning’s Mohaather is the selection here on the back of his impressive victory in the Betfred Summer Mile at Ascot.
He was a rather luckless seventh in Queen Anne at Royal Ascot on his reappearance but soon remedied that on his follow up race, accounting for his nearest rival by a comfortable 3¾ lengths that day.
Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Siskin is the principle danger from the Ger Lyons stable. He showed an impressive turn of foot to see off Vatican City in that renewal and will hoping he can get the same rubs of the green on the South Downs.
2000 Guineas winner and Derby fourth Kameko, is yet another class act in the field, while Wichita deserves to win a race like this after being right in the mix twice already this season.
4.20pm Goodwood – Zhui Fen (each way) at 14/1 with Skybet (6 places)
Amanda Perrett’s Zhui Feng took the 2017 Royal Hunt Cup but has struggled to reach those heady heights since and ran really poorly in the consolation race for that contest last month.
However the seven-year-old is a previous course winner and has a favourable low draw, which gives the each-way shrewdies plenty of grounds for optimism that he may just bounce back today.
Toro Strike ran a cracking race in the Britannia to warrant a closer look here, while last year’s winner Dirty Rascal has another favourable low draw but needs to turn his season around pretty damn quickly.
Top-weighted Magical Wish is not the worst 40/1 shot you will come across on Wednesday and represents a stable that have done well in this race in recent years.
