Big Race Bankers on the Sussex Downs
The 2018 Glorious Goodwood meeting takes off on Tuesday 31st of July and on day one, Ascot Gold Cup hero Stradivarius is a 4/6 (1.67) favourite to continue on his merry way to staying division stardom for Newmarket master trainer John Gosden. He is the first of our Glorious Goodwood betting predictions.
Stradivarius is looking a key banker betting tip and an obvious inclusion for multiple bets on Day 1 of the Festival. He is a really versatile horse, with speed and stamina in spades and importantly, really thrives on racing, so it will take something top class to deny him in this form.
Other Glorious Goodwood Betting Predictions
Lennox Stakes (Tues)
Sir Michael Stoute’s Expert Eye could go off a really short price for the Group 2 Lennox Stakes, also on Tuesday, after his exciting win at Royal Ascot and given he was at this meeting last year. He has fluffed his lines a couple of times, but on his day he is one of the most exciting young flat horses around. With course form so valuable, Expert Eye will be hard to deny. He is 7/4 (2.75) at the time of writing, but could shorten.
Sussex Stakes (Weds)
In Wednesday’s feature race, the Qipco Sussex Stakes, John Gosden’s Without Parole is currently a 7/4 (2.75) shot to add to his game and classy success in the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot last month. The son of Frankel is developing into a real force and with this being only his fifth career start, the three-year-old could have much more to offer.
Qatar Stakes (Fri)
On Friday, top sprinter Battaash returns to the fore in the King George Qatar Stakes. He won this 5f contest last year, beating Profitable and Marsha in the process, so we know the Charlie Hills runner handles the track really well and he lost little in defeat to Blue Point at Royal Ascot, despite that horse running poorly in the July Cup. Battaash is a real 5f specialist and he looks like ‘banker’ material at Glorious Goodwood.
