Recommended Goodwood Betting Tips:
Weds, 3.35pm Goodwood (Sussex Stakes) – Ribchester at 11/10, bet365

Sat, 2.35pm, Goodwood (Stewards Cup) – Polybius (EW) at 10/1 Boylesports
Day one of the 2017 Glorious Goodwood Festival was certainly a winning day for the bookies with a 20/1 winner in the opener, following by 33/1, 50/1 and 100/1 winners on the card!
Hot Goodwood Cup favourite Big Orange was beaten by 6/1 chance Stradivarius and the only real knock for the bookies was the deeply impressive Expert Eye, a hugely talented juvenile trained by Sir Michael Stoute who was pretty much flawless in his victory in the Group 2 Vintage Stakes.
Day two is highlighted by the latest “Duel on the Downs” in the Group 1 Sussex Stakes, where top four-year-old miler RIBCHESTER will face off against English and Irish 2000 Guineas winner Churchill at 3.35pm.
The bookies are finding it hard to split the pair, but the Lockinge Stakes and Queen Anne Stakes winner Ribchester is the marginal favourite at 11/10 with bet365 and does appear to have the more solid look to his form.
Having said that, Churchill is a formidable three-year-old and despite running very flat in the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot last time up, he has to be respected in his bid to bounce straight back to the big time for Aidan O’Brien. But it is the Richard Fahey trained Ribchester is our main Glorious Goodwood betting tip for Day 2.
On Thursday it is all about the Aidan O’Brien trained filly WINTER in the Group 1 Nassau Stakes, a daughter of Galileo that has done nothing but improve and impress in her efforts so far this season.
She followed up her two 1000 Guineas victories at the Curragh and Newmarket with a superb performance in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot, making it a trio of Group 1 victories for the striking grey.
She will face stiff opposition in the form of Shutter Speed, So Mi Dar and Queen’s Trust from the in-form Stoute yard, but Winter is a tremendous and undeniable vein of form and if she keeps it up, they all have her to beat at around 7/4 mark. Current top price is 15/8 with Coral.

In Saturday’s Steward’s Cup handicap sprint, the main event on the final day, David Simcock’s POLYBIUS has been subjected to sustained support in recent days and is a live contender at around 10/1 with Boylesports at the time of writing.
This experienced six-year-old son of Oasis Dream is finding some encouraging improvement at the right time and on the back of an excellent second over 5f at Ascot last time out, he has every chance to land the lion’s share of this £250,000 prize.
