Free tips Premier League: Chelsea v Arsenal predictions (12.30pm, Saturday)
Chelsea welcome Arsenal to Stamford Bridge in what promises to be another fascinating tussle between two Premier League contenders.
We take you through our predictions and betting tips for one of the most highly-anticipated games of the season in the English top flight.
Chelsea v Arsenal Past Meetings
Arsenal have lost each of their last four visits to Stamford Bridge, scoring only once and shipping twelve goals. The nadir came back in March 2014 when the Gunners slumped to a 6-0 defeat after Kieran Gibbs was dismissed in the 15th minute, although they were already two goals down by that stage.
Chelsea have won 12 of the last 19 meetings altogether although they were thoroughly defeated earlier in the season at the Emirates – first half goals from Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil giving Arsene Wenger’s side a deserved victory.
Chelsea v Arsenal Stats
Chelsea have won 18 of their last 12 fixtures and each of their last nine at Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal may have won six of their last seven outings across all competitions but they have been far from convincing – last minute goals rescued a point at Bournemouth and victories over Preston and Burnley. The trip to the Bridge is the first real test of Wenger’s side since their double away defeat at Everton and Manchester City before Christmas.
Chelsea v Arsenal Team News
Chelsea will have a fully fit first-team squad to chose from as things stand with no injury worries or suspensions.
Santi Cazorla remains absent for the North London side through injury while Mohamed Elneny remains at the African Cup of Nations with Egypt and Granit Xhaka is still suspended.

Reason for Chelsea v Arsenal bets:
Going by recent form and by the head-to-head history in this fixture, it’s hard to look beyond a home win for Chelsea. They have a 100% home win record since the early-season defeat at the hands of Liverpool and now look relentless in their pursuit of the Premier League title.
Arsenal have been winning recently, albeit unconvincingly, but year after year these fixtures against ‘rival’ top sides are the ones in which they have come unstuck, particularly away from home. The manner of their defeats at Everton and Manchester City were really poor and they won’t be able to get away with their performances since against such a slick and efficient Chelsea side.
Diego Costa netted the winner at the Emirates last season and scored against Arsenal at this stadium in a 2-0 victory in 2015 and he’s the league’s top scorer with 15 goals this season, which is even more remarkable is that none of those have come from the penalty spot. His recent goal and celebration against Hull showed he has put any talk of leaving the club out of his head (for now at least).
