REASON FOR CHELSEA VS HULL CITY BETTING TIPS
Chelsea v Hull City is the final game of the weekend’s round of Premier League matches, with the Blues looking to ensure that they remain at least seven points clear at the top of the table.
Antonio Conte’s decision to drop leading goalscorer Diego Costa ahead of last weekend’s trip to defending champions Leicester City proved to be of little consequence, with Chelsea running out comfortable 3-0 winners and it’s difficult to believe that Hull are capable of stopping the Chelsea juggernaut.
The Tigers did get off to a winning start under new manager Marco Silva, with the 3-1 victory over Bournemouth lifting them off the foot of the table and providing them with renewed hope of survival.
They have also made a couple of signings in the January transfer window to boost their injury ravaged squad, but were they to win at Stamford Bridge it would represent the shock result of the season to date in the Premier League.
That’s reflected in the match result odds, with Chelsea being a best price of 1/5 with Sportingbet to win. If you fancy the upset, Hull can be backed at 20/1 with BetVictor, while the draw is on offer at 13/2 with Betfred.
The best bet here could be in the Win to Nil market, with a Chelsea victory without conceding available at 4/5 with Skybet.
Turning to the Asian Handicap, Chelsea -2.0 can be backed at Evens with 888sport. That looks worth a punt, with any victory margin of three or more goals providing a winning bet, whilst a two-goal winning margin at least ensures that your stake would be refunded in full.
Chelsea have won nine of their 10 home games in the top-flight this season and in six of those they were leading at the interval too. Hull have lost eight of 10 matches away from home, with them being behind at the break in half of those defeats. In the Half-time/ Full-time Double Result market, Chelsea/ Chelsea can be backed at 7/10 with Coral, which looks reasonable.
In terms of Correct Score betting, a 3-0 Chelsea win is available at 13/2 with BetVictor, which is in the range of victory we would expect here.
If looking for an Anytime Goalscorer, then Pedro has huge appeal at a standout 11/5 with 888sport (he’s even money at best elsewhere). Eden Hazard is probably worth contemplating at 21/20 with Betfair too.
CHELSEA VS HULL CITY STATS
Chelsea are averaging 2.80 goals per game (GPG) at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League this season, whilst conceding at a rate of just 0.60 GPG. Hull’s away goal count registers at 0.95 GPG, whilst conceding at a rate of 2.14 GPG.
Both Teams To Score (BTTS) has occurred in 40% of Arsenal’s Premier League matches at the Bridge this season and in 40% of the Tigers away games.
CHELSEA TEAM NEWS
Even if he isn’t ruled out with a back injury, Diego Costa is set to remain on the sidelines following his spat with Antonio Conte unless there is a marked improvement in his attitude.
HULL CITY TEAM NEWS
Will Keane, Moses Odubajo, Alex Bruce and Markus Henriksen are all long-term absentees for Hull. In addition, there are doubts of varying degrees surrounding the availability of Allan McGregor, Brian Lenihan, David Meyler and Shaun Maloney.
