Stats say 8/15 about a Drawn Game is Value
So far there’s been three Premier League Darts nights in 2017, that’s 15 games in all. Amongst those there have been three drawn matches, one on the opening night, two during the second week and none in week 3.
During 2016 there were a sum total of 17 draws amongst 73 games during Phases 1 & 2 of the competition (all the ‘best of 12 legs’ games) so the combined stat is 20 draws from 85 games. More interestingly of the 16 nights where five games featuring the ‘best of 12’ format has been played, 11 nights witnessed a 6-6 drawn game/result.
Throw that lot into the blender and you have to like the 8/15 Boylesports offer about there being one or more drawn games this Thursday.
180’s Line to be High Now?
There is another stats play with the sum total of 180’s. During the three weeks of the ongoing 2017 Premier League Darts there have been 29, 29 and 32 180’s posted on each night. But the 180’s line remains at 32.5 and we believe it is now time to ‘go high’.
Last year, after a slow couple of weeks, Week 4 of the Premier League saw players hit their full stride and they posted a sum-total of 40 maximums. Furthermore it’s been Raymond van Barneveld and Dave Chisnall which have been most deadly around the treble 20’s in this competition to-date and this duo could easily throw another ten into the ring on Thursday as they are in ‘tight games’ (against Peter Wright and Jelle Klaasen respectively) which should see plenty of arrows thrown and ample 180 opportunities.
One From 11 Record No Good For Kim
Ironically we really fancy Phil Taylor this week – ironic as ‘the legend’ has scored just three 180’s in his three 2017 Premier League games to-date – against Kim Huyrbechts.
On a ‘Legs For vs Legs Against’ basis there are 12 legs between this pair on 2017 Premier League form. Taylor winning seven more legs than he has lost and his Dutch opponent losing five more than he has won.
But more pertinently Taylor has won 10 of his 11 meetings against Huybrechts (going back to October 2011) and this underlines a vast gulf in class between the duo.
Naturally odds of 4/9 offer little appeal but the sponsor’s (Betway) and William Hill’s quote of 4/5 in a handicap market giving Huybrechts a +2.5 start most definitely do.
