Premier League Darts Finals Betting Tips
The Premier League Darts finals betting odds are telling us it is unlikely we will have a first-time winner. Rob ‘Voltage’ Cross can be backed at a top-priced 8/1 with Paddy Power and BetVictor are industry best 14/1 about Michael ‘Bully Boy’ Smith.
Bizarrely Cross is the shorter price despite having a far harder semi-final assignment, he will tackle Michael van Gerwen (MVG). Then again, if he were to come through that test he would be odds-on to beat any rival.
Nailing our colours to the MVG Cross
But, for our two-penneth, Cross will not overcome MVG. Overall Cross has lost to the Dutchman ten times and only won twice. And furthermore MVG is in scintillating form. At the weekend MVG won the Dutch Masters for an unprecedented fifth consecutive time.
Landslide to bury poorly Smith?
The second semi-final match, which is a ‘best of 19 leg’ affair, may seem a lot more competitive. Gary Anderson is top-priced just 2/5 (1.40) with the sponsors Unibet while you need to head to Betfair to get the best price, 23/10 (3.30), about Michael Smith.
However there are grounds to believe this match may result in a landslide victory for the two-time winner. Firstly Anderson was in scintillating form last Thursday, beating MVG 7-5.

On the same night Smith battled well to get a 6-6 draw against Raymond van Barneveld. But he was also battling a bout of pleurisy and there is no guarantee that ailment will have cleared within the past seven days.
In fact, given Smith was mauled 6-0 by world No. 22 Stephen Bunting in the first round of the Dutch Masters over the weekend, there’s every reason to believe it is worsening.
Verdict: Our Premier League Darts Finals Betting Tips
You cannot back MVG to beat Rob Cross even at the industry top-price of 2/9 (at Boylesports), it is too short. 8/15 is better and that’s what you will get at BetBright in their handicap market which gives Rob Cross a 2.5 leg start. MVG should win this semi by a 10-7 score-line or better.
Gary Anderson is expected to win by a big margin, so play some ‘correct score’ markets as follows: 10-5 at 9/1 (Boylesports); 10-4 at 9/1 (bet365); 10-3 at 14/1 (Betway); 10-2 at 25/1 (Unibet); 10-1 at 45/1 (BetBright) and even the 10-0 whitewash at 125/1 with Betfair.
