Michael Smith vs James Wade
Michael Smith has nothing to play for, he has officially been eliminated from the Premier League. He has been playing dreadfully in this competition and elsewhere. As another black-mark against him in this contest, he has only won three of his 19 previous matches against James Wade who needs to win this to cement his position in the finals.
This should be something of a landslide so being greedy and not doing the obvious – taking Betfair’s 6/5 about a simple Wade victory – we are opting for the handicap market which gives Michael Smith a 2.5 leg start.

Mensur Suljovic vs Rob Cross
Rob Cross may not have achieved much in beating Michael Smith last week but he has been playing brilliantly in this competition earning nine wins and two draws from the 14 Premier League matches he has played. That sees him top the table ahead of MVG which is no mean feat.
But Mensur Suljovic has been progressing nicely – winning six of his last nine Premier League matches, with a draw and two losses – and like Wade he knows he really needs a win to make sure of visit to London’s O2 for the 2019 Premier League Darts Finals.
Given Suljovic and MVG are the only two players to have beaten Rob Cross in this year’s competition the former world champion is surely too short at 4/5 in the win market. We can oppose him by backing Suljovic to win and draw but the best option is the handicap where the Austrian can lose the match but still win our darts bets.

Daryl Gurney vs Gerwyn Price
The Daryl Gurney vs Gerwyn Price game could be ill tempered and mad volatile. Possibly a game to trade in play on the Betfair Exchange but at this juncture it is probably a game to swerve.
Michael van Gerwen vs Peter Wright
Like Michael Smith, Peter Wright is officially out of the competition. He too has been playing some woeful stuff but he must have taken some encouragement out of running MVG close in a tournament in Austria over the weekend.
He was ahead 5-3 before losing 6-5 there so ‘Snakebite’ retains his ability to both squander winning chances and stick it to the great champion. Nevertheless if Wright were to play to a similar standard against the same rival for the second time in less than a week he can make a mockery of his +3.5 and +2.5 starts in handicap markets. At 20/21 at BoyleSports and a considerably safer bet, the +3.5 leg market is the recommendation.
