REASONS FOR MANCHESTER CITY VS ARSENAL BETTING TIPS
With Chelsea having won at Crystal Palace on Saturday, Manchester City face Arsenal in a match that has almost become a must-win for both teams in their quest to stay in touch with what the team who are fast becoming runaway leaders.
The Citizens come into the game 10-points off the pace, whilst the Gunners are only a point better off. It will be asking an awful lot for either team to challenge for the title if that gap doesn’t close with the aid of three points on Sunday.
City recovered from back-to-back defeats to beat Watford 2-0 in the week, but it was a fairly workmanlike performance. Under the circumstances, after a run of poor form over the past couple of months, the result was more important than the performance.
Arsenal suffered their first Premier League defeat since their opening game of the campaign (and their first away from home all season) in losing 2-1 at Everton in the week and the big question is how they react to that loss.
Given Chelsea’s lead at the top, a draw really isn’t a great result for either team here (it certainly wouldn’t be City), so the expectation has to be that both will be going all out for the win here.
In the absence of Sergio Aguero, Manchester City do perhaps lack that extra ruthlessness in front of goal (although Kelechi Iheanacho is not a bad replacement and is an interesting prospect for Anytime Goalscorer at 6/4 with Skybet), whilst defensively they’ve frequently looked suspect this season.
Arsenal possess a goal threat against anyone, particularly with the ability of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez in and around the box. However, with injuries beginning to take their toll coupled with the end of their long unbeaten run in the week, they too could be vulnerable here.
There should be goals at the Etihad, so backing over 3 goals on the Asian Goal Line looks a reasonable shout. With that bet, if there are 4 goals or more in the match, your bet wins, but if there are 2 or less, you lose. If there are exactly 3 goals, you will get your stake back in full.
The need for both teams to win could also see the game becoming increasingly stretched, so backing the 2nd half as the highest scoring half also has some appeal.
If looking for a correct score, this is the type of game that could be anything, so it might pay to be a little adventurous. A 3-3 draw is available at 45/1 with BetVictor, which might be worth a small punt.
