REASON FOR EVERTON VS LIVERPOOL BETTING TIPS
After a run of one win in their previous 10 top-flight games, Everton hit a timely return to form with their spirited come-from-behind 2-1 win at home to Arsenal on Tuesday.
Despite that poor run of form, the Toffees are one of only three teams, alongside Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, who have yet to lose at home in the Premier League this season, having won four and drawn four of their eight matches at Goodison Park.
Liverpool also returned to winning ways in the week, seeing off Middlesbrough 3-0 at the Riverside Stadium after having taken just a point from their previous two games. They’ve not been quite at their best since the injury to Philippe Coutinho and come into this match with a nine-point gap to make up on runaway leaders Chelsea.
Of Liverpool’s 10 Premier League victories this season, eight have been with both teams scoring (the exceptions having been in their last two wins, at home to Sunderland and at Middlesbrough). You would have to fancy them to score at Goodison Park, particularly with captain Phil Jagiela absent through suspension for the Toffees. Everton will come into this game with renewed confidence after the Arsenal victory and, given their home record, look worth backing +0.5 on the Asian Handicap. That would ensure a winning bet provided the Toffees avoid defeat.
Both of these teams look stronger going forward than they do defensively, so goals should be on the agenda here. A 2-2 draw at 14/1 with William Hill looks an attractive bet on the correct score market. Romelu Lukaku can trouble the best defences and that’s a description that doesn’t really apply to Liverpool in fairness, so he might be worth backing at 2/1 with Skybet as an Anytime Goalscorer.
There would appear to be a good chance of a few goals at Goodison Park, so backing over 3 goals on the Asian Goal Line looks worth an interest. That’s a bet whereby if there are 4 goals or more in the match you win but, if there are 2 goals or less, you lose. If there are exactly 3 goals, you will get your stake back in full.
The draw in this game is available at 11/4 with bet365 and that doesn’t look like the worst option to back in the terms of the match result.
EVERTON VS LIVERPOOL STATS
Everton have only been leading at the interval in 19% of their games this season, whereas Liverpool have gone in for their half-time cuppa (or the 2016 equivalent) in the ascendency 56% of the time.

EVERTON TEAM NEWS
Captain Phil Jagielka serves a one-match ban for the Toffees after his late sending-off against Arsenal in the week. Yannick Bolasie remains a long-term absentee, but Gareth Barry is available after sitting out the Arsenal game.
LIVERPOOL TEAM NEWS
Daniel Sturridge, Emre Can and Joel Matip are all under consideration for Liverpool after all missing out with injury in the week, but Philippe Coutinho and Marko Grujic are still ruled out. Simon Mignolet is again set to get Jurgen Klopp’s vote ahead of Loris Karius in goal.
