Free tips Premier League Tips: Manchester City to Go Unbeaten?
We are now well over halfway through the 2017/18 Premier League season and Manchester City are still unbeaten.
In fact, Pep Guardiola’s side are 15 points clear at the top of the table, having dropped just four points all campaign – an incredible feat. City have left the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool in their wake and another top-flight title is almost certainly on the cards.
Simply put, City have been a class above their rivals this season. The Blues have scored more goals (64) and conceded fewer (13) than any of their top-flight opponents; the ideal recipe for Premier League glory. Despite their obvious deficiencies at the back in recent years, Pep has now managed to build an elite roster at the Etihad Stadium.
The Blues were criticised for spending £50 million on right-back Kyle Walker in the summer but the former Tottenham Hotspur star has helped to take City to the next level. Spending big sums of money is key in modern football and it would be harsh to criticise Guardiola too much.
City needed to fix their defence and they’ve done exactly that; and now the Citizens are running away with the title.

As of January 11th, City are 1/100 to win the crown in the Premier League betting odds. Fans are already discussing the possibility of emulating Arsenal’s “Invincibles” side from 2003/04 and it would take a brave man to back against the Blues. Barring a major setback, City are looking unbeatable and plenty of punters will be getting behind Pep’s men.
But perhaps the biggest reason for their success is Kevin de Bruyne. The Belgium superstar has been simply sublime this campaign and is a standout candidate to win the PFA Player of the Year award for 2017/18.
With eight goals and 12 assists in 31 City appearances in all competitions this season, De Bruyne has really upped his game and Guardiola’s midfield maestro could still inspire the Blues to an unprecedented quadruple.
With City clear at the top of the table in the title race, Pep may choose to focus primarily on the other competitions in the second half of the campaign. The Blues are 90 minutes away from the League Cup final and a favourable fourth round clash with Cardiff City or Mansfield Town in the FA Cup awaits.
And on current form, you wouldn’t be against Guardiola’s side in their pursuit of Champions League glory – even if the City boss continues to dismiss their chances.
Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling have been in fantastic form, netting 27 Premier League goals between them.
The former is one of the most dangerous strikers in the top flight but the latter has matured into an elite goal-scoring talent this campaign. Sterling has bagged a number of important goals in recent months and his impact late in matches could be the difference as City look to rewrite the history books.
This Manchester City side is something else and Premier League followers know it. To do what they are doing in the modern era is incredible and neutrals should sit back and enjoy watching one of the greatest club sides of all-time.
Pep Guardiola was always going to be a huge hit in England and his attacking style is finally beginning to reap rewards. An unbeaten season is still very much on.
