Reasons for West Brom v Arsenal betting tips
Arsene Wenger feels his side have regained their confidence after last weekend’s thrashing of non-league Lincoln in the FA Cup.
It was certainly a welcome boost after their humiliation by Bayern Munich – and reports of in-house bust-ups – but defeating non-league opposition won’t appease the disgruntled fans.
A sizeable proportion feel Wenger’s time is up, and you get the feeling the long-term boss might do too. If this is to be his final season in charge, he’ll want to go out on a high, and that includes at least finishing in the top four.
It’s a tough battle this season, but his side have a game in hand over their rivals.
The Baggies have been in monumental home form this season, notching more wins at the Hawthorns than the two Manchester clubs have at their respective grounds.
Nevertheless, they’re experiencing a slight drop in form of late. They’ve won just two of their last five matches, losing the last two. That includes a home loss to relegation battlers Crystal Palace.
They showed little fight at Goodison Park last weekend and European football is now a distant dream. The Toffees have moved seven points ahead of them, so they no longer have so much to play for. That should be the difference between the teams on Saturday.
Arsenal are still fighting for a Champions League place, and with City to follow the week after, they’ll be desperate for the points. Back the Gunners at 7/10 with 888sport.
The Baggies will likely show more fight in front of their home fans, so there could be some goals. Back an away win and over 2.5 goals at 7/5 with Paddy Power.
