WEST HAM VS MANCHESTER UNITED PREDICTIONS
ANYTIME GOALSCORER:
Zlatan Ibrahimovic at 11/10 with William Hill
MATCH RESULT AND BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE:
Manchester United and Yes at 13/5 with bet365
There will be little rest for West Ham and Manchester United as they quickly follow up their New Year’s Eve games against Leicester and Middlesbrough with a January 2nd clash at the London Stadium.
Barring any New Year’s Eve defeats, these two teams come into this fixture in excellent form. West Ham enjoyed their December by following up their defeat to Arsenal with a draw against Liverpool and three victories, while Manchester United followed their disappointing draw at Everton up with five consecutive wins across all competitions.
It should, therefore, be a fascinating clash, although Wayne Rooney is a doubt to be fit for it as he has been suffering from a slight injury, while Luke Shaw and James Wilson are also on Jose Mourinho’s medical list. For Slaven Bilic, his injury report is still a lengthy one, with Gökhan Töre, Diafra Sakho, Simone Zaza, Sam Byram, Reece Oxford, James Collins and Manuel Lanzini all fighting to overcome recent knocks.
WEST HAM VS MANCHESTER UNITED WINNER ODDS
Given their recent purple patch, Manchester United are tipped to win this one, with Bet365 pricing an away win at betting odds of 3/4. With West Ham suffering so many injuries, that prediction of an away win makes a lot of sense, but a more profitable tip may be to bet on Manchester United to win, with both teams scoring.
That is given odds of 13/5 by Bet365 and it certainly seems a smart bet given that both teams have gotten on the scoresheet in the past five meetings between those two. Six of West Ham’s past eight matches have also seen both sides score, while the same is true of five of Manchester United’s past eight games in all competitions.
WEST HAM VS MANCHESTER UNITED ANYTIME SCORER ODDS
There is little reason to look past Zlatan Ibrahimovic when it comes to predicting an anytime goalscorer for this one. With eight goals in the Swede’s past seven Premier League matches, the 11/10 odds being offered by William Hill are well worth investigating.
On the other side of the scoreboard, Andy Carroll is the bookies’ favourite to score for West Ham after grabbing a couple of Premier League goals already this December. He is priced at 3/1 by Unibet to score in 90 minutes.
WEST HAM VS MANCHESTER UNITED VERDICTS
While Manchester United are favourites to take all three points in this one, it is unlikely to be easy for Jose Mourinho’s side. West Ham could well get a goal or two themselves and if they do then Andy Carroll is the man most likely to do so.
Yet the visitors have enough firepower up top with an in-form Ibrahimovic to eke out the victory.
