Not much for us on Day 2 so we’ll soldier on with four more selections in our Royal Ascot Day 3 tips below…
Video: Day 2 Royal Ascot Highlights
1.15pm Royal Ascot- Tritonic at 9/1 with Betfair Sportsbook
Trainer Alan King has booked champion jockey Oisin Murphy to ride Tritonic, his only runner on Gold Cup day at Royal Ascot in the Golden Gates Handicap.
After winning at Ffos Las, King’s colt went to Newbury and comprehensively beat John Gosden’s much-hyped Cape Palace over one mile on good going. Unfortunately he then got stuck in the mud in the Zetland Stakes at Newmarket on his last run of the season, but King reports he has done well through the winter and is looking forward to starting him back.
Given what Alan King achieved with Coeur De Lion on Tuesday, Tritonic is very hard to ignore.
2.25pm Royal Ascot – Repartee (Each Way) at 25/1 with BetVictor
Sheikh Obaid Mohammed Al Maktoum enjoyed his first winner trained by Kevin Ryan when Repartee flew home on debut in a competitive maiden stakes at York last May. The Invincible Spirit-colt then went on to run three excellent races without winning.
His third to Thread in the Gimcrack and a close runner-up to King’s Lynn in the Weatherbys 2-Y-O Stakes are form lines not to be sniffed at.
The chances are Repartee will be straight out of the blocks here on his seasonal return and Royal Ascot betting odds of 25/1 look really attractive.
3.35pm Royal Ascot – Technician at 11/2 with bet365*
Technician finished 2019 with a flourish and could prove to be a worthy adversary to Stradivarius today. After finishing sixth in the St Leger the Martyn Meade-trained colt registered wins in the Prix Chaudenay and the Prix Royal-Oak (French St Leger). Both of those races are working out really well with plenty of winners coming out of both races.
If Stradivarius is there to be shot at then Technician has all the credentials to do so. Stradivarius’ crown has slipped ever so slightly in his last two runs. He went down to Kew Gardens last term and he was well beaten by Ghaiyyath, albeit over an inadequate distance.
Can Technician steal his crown? Well 11/2 says he can.
4.40pm Royal Ascot – Huboor (Each Way) at 18/1 with bet365*
Already a multiple winner this week at Royal Ascot, Jim Crowley appears to be the key to success with this Mark Johnston-trained filly. She won twice under Crowley last season and he is reunited with her again here.
Her 1¼ lengths warm-up race at Lingfield looks pretty decent form and she can kick-on again here at a backable each-way price of 18/1.
