Free tips Tennis Betting Tips: 2018 US Open Tennis Betting Predictions
Back Marin Cilic for 3rd quarter in US Open draw, with Simona Halep in the women’s
The 2018 US Open at Flushing Meadows, New York begins on Monday 27th August and reaches its conclusion with the Men’s Singles Final on Sunday 8th September. Here our tennis betting expert gives you his US Open Tennis betting predictions and tips for this year’s Grand Slam event…
US Open Tennis Betting Predictions:
Player to win 3rd Quarter (Men’s) – Marin Cilic @ 5/2 with Paddy Power
US Open Winner (Women’s) – Simona Halep @ 13/2 with bet365*
Rafael Nadal is the defending Men’s champion, having defeated Kevin Anderson 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 in last year’s final and the current World No. 1 will be seeking his 4th US Open title and his 18th Grand Slam overall.
That’s going to be no easy task though, and with all the top players fit and available for a major Grand Slam for the first time in a good while, it promises to be fiercely contested.
US Open Tennis Betting Preview
Novak Djokovic is the pre-tournament favourite in the outright US Open betting odds at 5/2 with Coral, but it’s a highly competitive market, with Nadal at 10/3 with Betfred and Roger Federer an 11/2 shot with William Hill.
Since winning Wimbledon earlier in the summer, Djokovic has gone on to claim the Western & Southern Open title, beating Federer 6-4 6-4 in the final. Nadal also maintained his good form by winning the Rogers Cup, seeing off Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-2 7-6 in the final on what was the Greek youngster’s 20th birthday.
With the betting on the US Open winner looking so open, it might pay to look at betting markets elsewhere. Now that the draw for the US Open has been made, a number of bookies offer odds on which player will win each quarter of said draw (essentially selecting a player to reach the semi-final stage of the tournament from their quarter of the draw).

The 3rd quarter is worth an extra look, with Alexander Zverev the 9/4 favourite with Betfair. The 21 year-old German is unquestionably a huge talent but, like many youngsters in recent years, has so far failed to make his ability count at a Grand Slam event. Other notable players in the 3rd quarter of the draw include Kei Nishikori (7/1 with BetStars), David Goffin (11/1 with bet365*) and Gael Monfils (20/1 with Paddy Power), all of whom could potentially progress deep into the tournament.
However, the player to back could be Marin Cilic at 5/2 with Paddy Power. The 29 year-old Croatian has had a good year and was also US Open champion himself in 2014, so certainly has the pedigree required to go a long way in the tournament and is our only US Open tennis betting predictions for the Men’s.
Women’s US Open Tennis Betting
In terms of women’s US Open tennis betting predictions, all the interest is on Serena Williams following her return to action culminating in being a losing finalist at Wimbledon 2018. She’s the slight favourite with the majority of sports bookies for the US Open title and can be backed at 13/2 with Coral. However, her form isn’t great and she looks a bit of a risky bet on the US Open tennis as things stand.
On the other hand, world no.1 ranked player Simona Halep comes into the tournament in excellent form, having beaten defending US Open champion Sloane Stephens 7-6 3-6 6-4 in the final of the Rogers Cup, before finishing runner-up to Kiki Bertens in the Western & Southern Open final a week later, losing 6-2 6-7 2-6.
At US Open odds of 13/2 with bet365*, the 26 year-old Romanian looks decent betting value having broken her Grand Slam duck with the French Open title earlier in the year.
