League One Playoffs Betting Odds
Football bets on the end of season play-offs are always hugely popular, with fantastic drama nigh on guaranteed in all the divisions every year. Here’s a run down of latest League One playoffs betting odds.
Runners & Riders
- 3rd place – Shrewsbury Town / 87pts
- 4th place – Rotherham United / 79pts
- 5th place – Scunthorpe United / 74pts
- 6th place – Charlton Athletic / 71pts
A place in the Championship is up for grabs as the League One play-offs kick-off on Thursday evening, with Charlton Athletic up against Shrewsbury Town in their semi-final 1st leg clash at the Valley.
The other two teams vying for promotion are Rotherham United and Scunthorpe United, with the bookies struggling to separate the four in the League One promotion betting.
Rotherham have been priced at best odds of 9/4 favourites with BetVictor, with Charlton 5/2 at Betway, Scunthorpe are 100/30 with William Hill and Shrewsbury Town, despite finishing clear of their play-off rivals in 3rd position, deemed the outsiders at 7/2 (also with William Hill).
Having spent much of the season in the automatic promotion places, Shrewsbury Town have ended the campaign with just one win in their last six league matches and may have lost momentum as a consequence. Charlton’s late season form was relatively mixed, with goals at either end being at a premium in their games during the run-in.
The second semi-final 1st leg at Scunthorpe’s Glanford Park takes place on Saturday lunchtime. Scunthorpe ended the season unbeaten over their final eight games although, like Charlton, goals were in short supply. For their part, Rotherham Utd were all but assured of a play-off spot for a while, but never really threatened to challenge for a top two finish.
It’s difficult to argue with the bookies in terms of the competitiveness of the League One play-off betting, with little to choose between any of them, but current form perhaps makes Scunthorpe the best option if you are looking to have a bet on the League One outright promotion market.
